Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology
Location: Dallas, Texas
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 10
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Coordinate patient care delivery focusing on oncology patient populations using the nursing process.
- Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses.
- Assist patients in transitioning through healthcare encounters without preventable complications or delays.
- Delegate interventions to healthcare personnel based on patient condition and competencies.
- Serve as a patient advocate respecting patient rights, confidentiality, and cultural preferences.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Perform patient assessments related to cancer care, including allergies, physical symptoms, psychosocial and financial factors across the continuum of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient care records.
- Serve as a preceptor or trainer for new nursing staff and act as Charge Nurse on rotation.
- Act as a role model and resource for oncology nursing and unit nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 24 months of current Oncology nursing experience.
- Experience with EPIC Beacon and Chemotherapy Infusion.
- ONS chemotherapy biotherapy provider certification.
- Active Texas RN license or Compact RN license.
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Must disclose any previous employment history with the facility.
- Provide a resume, oncology-specific skills checklist, and two supervisory references from within the last year.
- Proof of taxable address (e.g., driver’s license, utility bill, lease agreement).
Work Schedule & Conditions
- Work week runs Wednesday through Tuesday.
- Overtime and holiday pay at 1.5x.
- Callback pay at 1.5x with a minimum of 2 hours for any callback services.
- No unbillable orientation hours.
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract.
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted.
