Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical / Telemetry RN (Travel)

Location: Beckley, West Virginia

Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Minimum 2+ years current Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing experience required.
• Patient ratios typically 1:5 or 1:6.
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
• Schedule: 36/48 hours per pay period (no block scheduling).
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• Start date is flexible and based on need.
• Candidates must reside within 100 miles of the facility.

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Must have a valid West Virginia RN license or a compact RN license.

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• NIH Certification (required for all RN specialties except OR and Psych)

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry nursing.

Prior Travel Experience

• Not explicitly required.

Health & Compliance Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine (religious and medical exemptions accepted with proper documentation and approval).
• Influenza Vaccine (required September 1 - May 31; exemptions accepted with documentation).
• Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer.
• Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination.
• Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer.
• Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted).
• Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating clear to work without restrictions.
• TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start.
• If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire.
• Drug screen per ARH 20/20 standards.

Professional & Background Requirements

• Nursing license verification through Nursys within 30 days of start.
• Background check within 30 days prior to start including:

  • 7-year county criminal checks
  • Nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender registry, SAM, OIG checks
• Employment and education verifications.
• 2 professional references required (one charge or higher, one supervisor reference within last year).
• Completion of ARH submission packet and job description.
• Skills checklist, competency exam, EKG/Telemetry exam, and core competencies specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start.
• West Virginia APS/CPS check.
• Employee health attestation form must be completed prior to compliance deadline.

Additional Notes

• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
• No multiple submissions for the same candidate.
• Ratios and schedules may fluctuate based on census and call-ins.
