Travel RN OR Circulator - West Virginia (Beckley)

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) Circulator
• Location: Beckley, West Virginia
• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 12 weeks
• Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 11:30 AM - 8:00 PM
  Includes call every 4th weekend and two nights per week
• Residency Requirement: Must reside within 100 miles of the facility

Required Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience, dependent on specialty
• Experience in Orthopedics, Vascular, Gynecology (GYN), Robotics, ENT, and General surgical cases

Certifications & Licenses Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Valid nursing license (West Virginia or compact license for WV)
• Must be registered with Nursys within 30 days of start

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer (with follow-up dosing if needed)
• Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination
• Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer (with follow-up dosing if needed)
• Tdap vaccine (valid for 10 years; declinations accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine (optional, but recommended; religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Influenza vaccine (required Sept 1 - May 31; religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation)
• Annual physical or health statement signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP stating clear to work without restrictions
• TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start
• If positive PPD, proof of negative chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire

Background & Screening

• 7-year county and nationwide criminal background check including SSN trace, National Sex Offender, SAM, OIG, EPLS, OFAC checks within 30 days prior to start
• Drug screen (excluding marijuana/THC) within 30 days prior to start
• Employment and education verifications (5 years employment verification if run separately)
• APS/CPS check for West Virginia facilities
• Social Security trace (if run separately)

Competency & Skills

• Specialty job description signed and dated (annual update required)
• Skills checklist specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start
• Competency exam specific to scope of practice within one year prior to start (actual documents required, not just certificates)
• Core competencies including HIPAA, Patient Bill of Rights, Safety Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Fire Safety, Infection Control, Elder Abuse and Neglect, Age Specific Care, Cultural Diversity, Advance Directives (annual update required)
• EKG and Telemetry exams (optional)

References

• Two professional references required:

  • One charge nurse or higher
  • One supervisor reference within the last year

Additional Notes

• Orientation is bi-weekly
• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer
• Candidate must not be submitted to more than one job at a time
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
