Job Opportunity: Med Surge/Tele Nurse (Travel RN)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years current experience in Medical/Surgical nursing (highest required experience).
• Must have experience with 1:5 patient ratios.
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required.

Licenses & Certifications Required

• Current Kentucky or compact nursing license.
• BLS (American Heart Association only; front and back of certificate if not electronic).
• ACLS (American Heart Association only; front and back of certificate if not electronic).
• NIH Certification (required for RN specialties except OR and Psych).
• Nursys verification within 30 days of start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Proof of 2 MMR vaccinations or positive titer prior to start.
• Proof of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series or declination accepted.
• Proof of 2 Varicella vaccinations or positive titer prior to start.
• Tdap vaccination valid for 10 years (declinations acceptable).
• Annual physical or physician note within 1 year prior to start stating "clear to work" and free of restrictions.
• Influenza vaccine required (Sept 1 - May 31), with religious and medical exemptions accepted with documentation; declinations not accepted.
• TB Quantiferon blood test within one year prior to start.
• If positive TB record, proof of chest X-ray within last 5 years plus TB questionnaire.
• ARH 20/20 Drug Screen (includes multiple substances; annual update required).

Additional Requirements

• Must reside within 100 miles of the facility.
• Orientation occurs bi-weekly.
• Assignment confirmation must be submitted within 24 hours of accepting the offer.
• Two professional references required: one charge nurse or higher, and one supervisor reference within the last year.
• Completion of ARH-specific documentation including:

  • Background checks (7-year county, nationwide criminal, SSN trace, sex offender, SAM, OIG).
  • Employment and education verifications.
  • Skills checklist, competency exams, EKG and telemetry exams.
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, patient rights, safety, infection control, elder abuse, cultural diversity, advance directives.
  • Employee health attestation form.
  • Kentucky Vulnerable Adult Maltreatment Registry verification within 30 days prior to start.

Work Environment

• Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients.
• Use of Meditech EMR system.
• Start date is the date needed; no delays.

This is a travel RN position for a Medical/Surgical nurse with at least 2 years of experience, requiring current KY or compact license, BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.
