Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (NICU)

Location: Carmel, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Unit: Level 3 NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years
• Shift: Night shift, 1800-0630 (36 hours per week)

Required Credentials & Certifications

Professional Credentials

• Resume/Profile submission required
• Two professional references required prior to first assignment
• Driver’s License/State ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements)

Certifications (Must be AHA unless otherwise noted)

• ACLS (Required)
• BLS (Optional)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) (Optional)
• NRP Advanced (Required)

Health & Immunization Requirements

• MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
• Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
• Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
• Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
• Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be done onsite
• 2 Step PPD or IGRA (TB testing): Required with specific timing and annual updates
• Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire if applicable
• Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually

Background & Compliance

• Criminal Background Check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry (completed within 30 days of first assignment, updated annually)
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days
• Education Verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start, rerun if break in service > 90 days)
• Employment Verification for past 7 years (updated annually)
• Confirmation of Assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and extensions
• Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist completed within one year of start, updated annually
• 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually, retesting if break in service > 90 days

Additional Notes

• Some onboarding forms and attestations are completed onsite or uploaded by the agency/facility.
• Compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, OSHA topics required (minimum 80% score, only 2 attempts allowed).
• All documentation must be current and meet the specified timelines to ensure onboarding and assignment eligibility.
