Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma

Job Description

  • Provide evaluation and care for patients with respiratory insufficiencies.
  • Assess patients for appropriate treatment types and frequencies; develop and implement care plans based on diagnosis.
  • Monitor patient condition and respiratory equipment.
  • Perform advanced respiratory care modalities.
  • Evaluate respiratory practices, medication administration, and treatments based on patient outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families about health conditions and community support resources.
  • Respond to emergency resuscitation team codes.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license for Oklahoma.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA required).
  • Completion of core competencies related to respiratory therapy, including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics.
  • Documentation of immunizations and health screenings:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Influenza vaccine (seasonal; exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
    • Tdap vaccine (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
    • Tuberculosis screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire
    • Fit test for respiratory protection (updated annually)
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually.
  • Drug screening: 12-panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, with MRO review as needed.
  • Criminal background check, employment verification, education verification, and professional references as required by facility onboarding.
  • Skills checklist for respiratory therapy completed within one year and updated annually.
  • Valid driver's license or state ID matching home state for compact license holders.
