Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Acute Rehab (Inpatient Rehab)

Location: Waco, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM

Job Description

• Provide direct patient care in an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
• Implement individualized care plans.
• Coordinate patient discharge needs.
• Preferred experience in inpatient rehab nursing.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
• Minimum of 2 years of rehabilitation nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Professional Documentation (Required for Submission)

• Resume or professional profile.
• Two professional references.
• Driver’s license or state ID (valid, not expired, matching address requirements).
• License/certificate verification and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings.
• Employment verification for the past seven years.

Required for Onboarding (Must be completed prior to or at start)

• Signed assignment agreement (offer letter, initial confirmation, and extensions).
• Specialty competency exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
• Core competencies training including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics, with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years.
• Color vision test, updated every 3 years.
• NIH certification (Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F every 2 years).
• Nursing contract worker onboarding (completed onsite).
• Pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip and Epic test-out with training checklist and signed attestation.
• Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • MMR: documented proof of two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted.
  • Varicella: documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap: valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine (optional; exemptions accepted with mask requirement during flu season).
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; if positive, chest X-ray and annual TB questionnaire.
• Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start.
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually.
• Skills checklist for specialty, completed within one year and updated annually.
• Education verification relevant to clinical work, completed within 90 days of start.

• Optional: Unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start.
• Post-assignment hiring manager evaluation and name change documentation are optional.
