Job Opportunity: Cardiac Sonographer (Days)

Location: Northampton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Job Summary

• Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment for comprehensive cardiac scanning including M-Mode, 2-D, color Doppler, exercise testing, TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiography), TTE (Transthoracic Echocardiography), and Stress echo.
• Perform bubble studies using Lumason imaging agent.
• Responsible for scanning patients in all aspects of cardiac sonography.
• Must be an experienced technician able to start immediately with minimal orientation.
• Familiarity with Philips ultrasound equipment is required.
• Knowledge of Epic electronic health record system and ability to start IVs are considered a plus.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in radiology or equivalent certification.
• RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) certification required.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Cardio Echo Technician or Cardiac Sonographer.
• Experience with TEE, TTE, and Stress echo mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
• Ability to start IVs.

Compliance and Onboarding Requirements

• Submission of a professional color photo (recent, plain background, no glasses).
• Current certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred but optional.
• License and certification primary source verification within 30 days of start date.
• Annual N95 respirator fit testing and medical clearance.
• Passing score (80%) on dysrhythmia exam.
• Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity.
• TB screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), with chest x-ray if positive.
• Health statement signed by a licensed provider within 1 year of start date.
• Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, national sex offender registry, and exclusion lists.
• Verification of highest education level.
• Submission of resume with 7 years of work history including city and state.
• Two professional references within 4 years, including at least one supervisor.
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year.
• Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Contract length is 13 weeks.
• The position reports to the Supervisor Cardiac Sonographer and follows established policies and procedures.
