Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Setting: Busy NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
Shift: 3 x 12 hour night shifts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Requirements
Credentials:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- NICU experience required
Licenses & Certifications:
- Professional license verification required prior to submission (no MA Conditional Licenses accepted)
- BLS certification required (AHA preferred)
- Other required certifications include:
- Fit Test for N95 respirator (within 1 year, updated annually)
- MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
- Influenza vaccine during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30)
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start date
- Health statement signed by a healthcare provider within 1 year
- Optional but preferred: Hepatitis B and Tdap vaccines
Background Checks & Compliance:
- Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start
- Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start
- National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start
- Exclusion checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within 30 days prior to start
- Social Security Number trace for past 7 years addresses/employment/school
- Education verification of highest degree achieved
Documentation for Submission:
- Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
- Two recent references (minimum one supervisor or above in relevant skillset)
- Skills checklist
- Candidate submission coversheet
- MGB Badge photo (color photo taken within past 6 months, plain background, no glasses)
Additional Onboarding Requirements:
- Confirmation of assignment form upon acceptance and for any extensions
- Respirator Medical Clearance attestation (if fit test required)
Summary
This is a long-term contract for a Registered Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience to work night shifts in a busy neonatal intensive care unit. The position requires comprehensive credentialing, immunizations, and background checks in compliance with Massachusetts healthcare regulations and hospital system policies.
