Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care

Location: Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin

Contract Details

• Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour variable shifts (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM and 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
• Shift Rotation: Weekly or biweekly rotation
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend (Fri-Sun) and every other holiday
• Float: Required to float to all inpatient units as needed, including other regional locations
• On Call/Call Back: None (except potential low census call back with pay)

Unit & Patient Information

• 8-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care Unit (Stepdown/PCU)
• Patient types include telemetry, stable patients, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, and insulin drips
• Patient ratio: 4:1
• Fast-paced environment requiring independent task management and resilience

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Stepdown/Intermediate Care/PCU (higher experience requirement applied)
• Prior Travel Experience: Preferred but not required (at least one completed travel contract preferred)
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Wisconsin RN License
  • BLS
  • ACLS (AHA or ARC certification required)
• Skills: EPIC charting experience required
• Other: Must be adaptable, resilient, and able to manage change well

• Scrub color: Any color accepted
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours
• During flu season, flu and COVID vaccination or mask-wearing policy strictly enforced with no exceptions
