Job Overview
Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Critical Care Float Pool position covering Critical Care, Cardiac ICU, and IMC units. The role involves floating between critical care units and possibly to lower acuity units based on census and need.
Schedule & Shift Details
- 12-hour variable shifts (day and night) on a weekly rotation
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Weekend/Holiday: 2 out of 4 weekends, every other holiday
- On-call/call-back: May be required with a minimum 2-hour callback
- Low census weeks may include up to 36 hours of unbillable low census time
Required Qualifications
- Minnesota RN License
- BLS (AHA/ARC)
- ACLS (AHA/ARC)
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience, preferably within critical care
- Preference for critical care experience within the past 3 years
- Prior travel experience preferred (at least 1 prior travel assignment)
- Epic charting experience preferred
Preferred Certifications
- TNCC
- CCRN
Additional Information
- Must be able to float between critical care units and lower acuity units as needed
- Candidates with prior contract experience in colder climates (Midwest, Northeast, Mountain regions) preferred for winter start dates
- Strong assessment skills and ability to manage patient/family education, discharge planning, and communication with healthcare team
- Ability to recognize and report abnormal diagnostic data and signs of abuse
- Resilient, able to manage change, and work independently
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
