Job Summary

• Perform radiographic examinations with minimal supervision under the direction of a Radiologist.
• Coordinate daily activities including performing examinations and associated clerical duties.

Essential Functions

• Perform and assist with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
• Document patient history related to specific procedures as submitted by physicians.
• Confirm patient identification verbally and by validating proof of identity.
• Prepare and administer contrast media as required.
• Consult with radiologists and other physicians as necessary.
• Select and operate equipment based on procedure demands.
• Demonstrate correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
• Maintain appropriate records according to departmental standards.

Physical Requirements

• Requires strenuous physical effort assisting patients from wheelchairs and stretchers.
• Handle equipment and monitoring supplies.
• Frequent stretching, bending, twisting, squatting, or kneeling may be required.
• Use hands for power gripping, speed work, and precision manipulation of radiographic equipment.
• Vision and hearing for distances up to 10 feet necessary.
• Exposure to physical conditions such as walking on hard surfaces, climbing stairs, and proximity to moving equipment.
• Ability to adapt to changes in temperature and humidity.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a formal Radiology Technology Program in an AMA-approved facility.
• ARRT (R) certification required.
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.
