Contract Length: 9 weeks (61 days ≈ 9 weeks)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in an outpatient dialysis center for patients with end-stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease.
• Build long-term, meaningful relationships with patients and their families in an intimate outpatient setting.
• Work as part of a small interdisciplinary team including technicians, nurses, dietitians, social workers, physicians, and center managers.
• Deliver specialized, complex care to patients with multiple co-morbidities requiring unique treatment plans.
• Manage up to 12 patients and supervise up to 3 Patient Care Technicians during shifts.
• Shifts are typically 12 hours, 3 days per week, Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays), with variable shift times between 4am and 10pm. Some holiday work is required.
• Participate in clinical goal setting and quality improvement initiatives to improve patient health.
• Must have a flexible schedule to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Emphasis on delivering empathetic and compassionate care.

Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent dialysis experience in Chronic/In Center settings (experience must be within the last 2 years).
• Experience in assessing, troubleshooting, and making sound clinical recommendations in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and team members.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Outlook.
• Experience in ICU, CCU, ER, or Medical Surgical settings is preferred.
• Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice; Graduate Nurse pre-licensure may be available in some locations.

Notes

• Dialysis experience is required despite the initial statement that it is not required; the higher experience requirement (1 year recent dialysis) takes precedence.
• No indication that prior travel experience is required for this position.
