Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), under the direction of a Physical Therapist, assists in performing tests and providing restorative and rehabilitative physical therapy services to maximize participant independence and safety. The PTA works with the rehabilitation team to implement care plans and supports participants both at the center and in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer treatment programs established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in obtaining vital signs, range of motion, and strength testing.
• Coordinate with rehabilitation team members to implement individualized treatment plans.
• Manage scheduling of treatments, clinical visits, and billing tasks.
• Deliver and document physical therapy interventions, including use of devices and techniques to promote muscle re-education, cognitive function, balance, endurance, and activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide training and instructions to staff, participants, and caregivers on therapeutic equipment use and care.
• Track and maintain therapy equipment.
• Monitor participant condition and promptly report changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Participate in end-of-life care coordination under supervision.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow company policies and quality improvement activities.
• Communicate regularly with supervisors and team members regarding workload and priorities.
• Complete mandated trainings and physical health screenings.
• Adapt to evolving business needs and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapy Assistant license in California
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Physical Therapist Assistant experience within the last year
• Experience working with geriatric patients
• Experience in a clinic setting

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (40 hours per week).
• Combination of on-site and mobile work depending on participant needs, with majority on-site.
• Responsibilities include treatment interventions and rehab administrative tasks such as updating logs, scheduling, and inventory management.

Additional Information

• The PTA will work under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
