RN - Step Down

Overview

• Location: Golden, Colorado
• Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours; 3 shifts per week
• Hours per week: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Unit: 32-bed step down unit
• Float / call: May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications; may be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Role Summary

• Step down nursing role for progressive care / intermediate care patients
• Manages drips and more acute patients

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Colorado
• Stepdown (1 year of experience)
• Stepdown experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

• Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care
• Evaluates health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
• Provides health teaching and health counseling
• Provides therapy and treatment supportive of life and well-being
• Executes delegated medical functions
• Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
• Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans
• Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
• Uses resources as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned
