CT Tech Position - Colorado, Golden

Job Summary

The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This role requires independent judgment and initiative to produce high-quality scans while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Essential Functions

• Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Operate CT equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
• Verify patient identification and orders; prepare patients for exams.
• Perform exams according to department protocols.
• Review and evaluate images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment.
• Complete studies within acceptable time limits without compromising care or quality.
• Provide patient education and address patient/family concerns.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate relevant information to other providers.
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
• Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any incidents.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, consents, quality control, and equipment reporting.
• Administer contrast media under physician supervision and educate patients on safety.
• Stay current with advancements in CT technology and protocols through continuing education.
• Assist and instruct students and other technologists in protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning.
• Proficiency in operating CT equipment and knowledge of CT imaging techniques and protocols.
• Knowledge of contrast administration protocols, including contrast injector operation.
• Proficiency with electronic imaging systems (viewing, transferring, manipulating images).
• Ability to recognize and respond to emergent patient situations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Effective communication skills with caregivers and patients.
• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment.

Required Qualifications

• Valid CT Tech license or certification as required by the state of Colorado.
• 2 years of CT experience (preferred 1-2 years healthcare setting experience).
• No explicit prior travel experience required.

Contract Length

• Approximately 9 weeks (62 days rounded to nearest week).
