Job Description

• Seeking ER RNs with experience in larger hospitals for 13 or 17-week contracts.
• Shift: 12-hour shifts, starting ASAP.
• Certifications Required:

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
• Preferred Certification: TNCC

Additional Information

• Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of ER experience in an Acute Care setting.
  • Highly preferred: travel experience or 5+ years in a Level 1 Trauma Facility.
  • Must have Meditech experience (version 6.15).

• COVID-19 Policy:

  • COVID immunization is not required, but unvaccinated individuals must be willing to undergo weekly testing.

• Testing Requirements:

  • Online Cardiac Rhythms test (minimum 80% passing score).
  • ESI Triage Exam during orientation (remediation available if failed).

• Unit Details:

  • Emergency Room Configuration:

    • 25 monitored beds
    • 6 fast treatment beds
    • 6 fast treatment chairs
    • 2 trauma bays
    • Recess bay and dedicated stroke room
    • 4 bed behavioral lockdown area staffed by psych
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 140 visits per day.
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1 to 4.
  • Weekend Requirement: Every 3-4th weekend.
  • Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday.

• Support Staff:

  • Charge Nurse present.
  • 2-3 Nurse Aides/Paramedics per shift.
  • Security/Patient sitters available.

• Orientation:

  • Floor-specific orientation of 1-2 shifts depending on comfort level.

• Common Diagnoses/Types of Patients:

  • Patients range from pediatrics to geriatrics, including trauma and neuro cases.

• Must have prior Meditech 6.15 experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in larger ER settings.
