Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Hospice)

Location

• Rancho Cordova, California
• Service area covers a 50-mile radius around Sacramento

Position Details

• Specialty: Hospice (Home Health)
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days
• Hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
• Caseload: 12-14 patients
• Visits: Approximately 4 visits per day or 2 start-of-care visits per day
• Work setting: Hospice patients in homes or facilities
• EMR system used: Home Care Home Base (HCHB)
• Department-specific orientation provided

Scheduling

• Rotating weekends approximately every 4 weeks
• Required to work all minor holidays and 2 major holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Hospice RN (higher of stated requirements)
• At least 1 year of hospice experience specifically
• Must provide 2 supervisory references: one within the last 12 months and one within the last 3 years
• Candidates must not have been employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any facility associated with a specific large health system within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable

Additional Information

• Mileage is not reimbursed separately; rates are adjusted accordingly
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• No requirement for InterQual or Milliman experience
• Not involved in utilization review or discharge planning
• No specialty certifications beyond BLS required
