Location

Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Department & Unit
- Surgical Services, Floor 2, Operating Room (OR)
- 4 OR suites plus 1 Endoscopy suite
- Average of 8 cases per day
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8-hour day shifts (typically 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM)
- Call requirements:
- Weeknights: Approximately 1 night per week (4 weeknights per month), may increase if staffing decreases
- Weekends: Typically 1 full weekend per month (Friday through Sunday)
- Holidays: May be assigned holiday call if applicable
- Call response time: Must be within 30 minutes of the hospital while on call
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in a variety of surgical cases including orthopedics (total joints, sports medicine, hands, trauma), general surgery, gynecology, C-sections, and endoscopy
- Required to help clean and turnover ORs along with the orderly team
- Cover endoscopy cases and perform SPD (Sterile Processing Department) and HLD (High-Level Disinfection) tasks, including cleaning and washing instruments for call coverage
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician, including experience within the last year
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), or certification from NCCT or NBSTSA
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Previous travel experience required
Orientation & Training
- Unit-specific orientation paired with a preceptor
- Training includes unit norms and system values
- Use of TDOC for instrument tracking and ProVation software for endoscopy documentation

- Scrub color: Blue scrubs provided according to surgical services attire policy
- The facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates’ permanent address verification before proceeding with profile review

- Charge Nurse and Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) available on each shift
