Registered Nurse (RN) – MedSurg/6E

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Patient Population: Medical-Surgical patients, including oncology med/surg overflow
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5
Float as needed within scope (including Post-OR Recovery patients)
Shift: 12-hour nights
Equipment: Nasal cannula and other standard respiratory therapy equipment
Fingernail Policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply may result in contract termination

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Nebraska
Minimum 2 years of MedSurg nursing experience, with at least 1 year within the last year
BLS Certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Valid driver’s license at time of application (used to verify candidate is within 50-mile radius)
Open book pass/fail exam during orientation requiring a minimum score of 90%
First-time travel nurses are welcome (no prior travel experience required)

Additional Information

Candidates must not be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with certain large healthcare systems within a 50-mile radius
Artificial nails are not allowed in patient care areas
Orientation includes a skills exam on Friday
Oncology-specific experience is not required for this floor

This position involves working in a medical-surgical unit with a focus on patient care and flexibility to float within related areas.
