Common patient diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac issues, overdose/substance abuse, adult sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, respiratory distress

RNs are required to titrate drips, including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
Respiratory equipment management includes nasal cannula to ventilator troubleshooting
RNs must read, interpret, and document cardiac monitor strips (GE monitors) with tele tech oversight

Nurse aides available based on census; assist with 1:1 patient care or floor support as needed
Healthcare Support Tech present 3 days per week (Monday-Friday, 0800-1630)

Shift options: 0630-1830 (day), 1830-0630 (night)
Self-scheduling available for core staff and travelers
Block scheduling generally not approved except possibly weekends only
Weekend requirement: every other weekend
Holiday requirement: minimum of 2 holidays during contract
Orientation: 1 shift of unit/department-specific orientation
Return to Orientation (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approved

Must have a valid driver’s license; candidates must live within 50 miles radius
Candidates cannot be currently employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
Fingernail policy: Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care areas; refusal to comply results in contract termination
RN exam during orientation: Pass/fail on Wednesdays, open book, 90% required to pass or contract terminated
No duo scheduling or shared car arrangements allowed
Floating assignments typically to PCU or occasionally MedSurg with usual patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
