Travel RN Opportunity – Behavioral Health Adult Unit
Location: Idaho Falls, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Facility Overview
- Large, modern, Joint Commission-accredited hospital with 330+ beds
- Level 1 Intensive Care Unit (only one in Idaho)
- Level II Trauma Center designation
- Specialty services including cardiovascular surgery, cancer treatment, trauma, neurosurgery, intensive care, and behavioral health
- Behavioral Health Center (BHC) is a 74-bed inpatient psychiatric facility for children, adolescents, and adults
- BHC provides 24-hour crisis intervention for various mental health issues
Unit Information – Behavioral Health Center
- 74 inpatient beds
- Staff of approximately 150
- Shift staffing (Night Shift example): 1 charge nurse, 2 RNs, 2 Mental Health Technicians (MHT), 1-3 sitters
- Patient ratio: RN 1:8 (shared nursing model)
- Equipment used: glucometer, oxygen, tube feeding, office equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system: Meditech
Position Details
- Shift: Nights
- Start: ASAP

Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing in the state of Idaho
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) / Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of chemical dependency or psychiatric nursing experience, or strong desire to learn in this specialty
- BSN degree preferred
Typical Responsibilities
- Deliver direct physical and psychosocial care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, evaluation)
- Provide holistic, individualized care appropriate to patient age
- Advocate for patient safety and ensure compliance with core measures
- Participate in development and implementation of patient care plans
- Communicate nursing process elements to improve outcomes and promote team collaboration

- Rotating weekends, no on-call required
