Travel RN Opportunity – Operating Room (OR)
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) – Operating Room (OR)
- Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (06:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: As required by facility
- Call Requirements: Scheduled call any day, averaging around 5 or fewer calls per 8 weeks
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Licensure & Certifications
- Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) only
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Level 1 or 2 Trauma (Teaching hospital experience considered/required)
- Scrub and OR Circulator experience required
- At least 1 year of experience in Interventional Vascular, competent in conscious sedation
- Prior travel experience not explicitly required
Unit & Patient Information
- Unit includes Main OR, Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), and Orthopedics
- Patient ratios typically 1:1
- Patient types range from outpatient to critical care inpatient
- Equipment includes DaVinci robotic surgery system
- EMR system: EPIC
Job Responsibilities
- Assist Vascular Surgeon in OR and Hybrid Imaging suite
- Collaborate with nurses and surgical techs for Endovascular and Open cases
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Uphold professional accountability and Mercy Service Standards
Skills & Abilities
- Strong clinical expertise in OR nursing
- Demonstrated skill in human relations and communication
- Highly motivated self-starter personality fit
Physical & Working Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Lift and push patients on stretchers and wheelchairs
- Work in clean, air-conditioned environment
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
