Travel RN Opportunity – Med Surg / Telemetry
Location: Saint Louis, Missouri
Facility Type: Hospital (Medical/Surgical Unit)
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours (flexible, must be specified on submission)
- Number of Openings: 1
- Weekend Hours: As required, typically every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Orientation: Night shift orients on day shift; availability for full orientation week required
- Holiday Time Off: Limited to 1 request per assignment; holiday RTO cannot be approved without restrictions
Licensure & Certifications
- Required: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri
- Required Certification: BLS (American Heart Association only)
- Preferred Certification: ACLS (American Heart Association only)
Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
- Must be dependable, flexible, and a team player
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Medical-Surgical
- Number of Beds: 60
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- Equipment Used: Bladder scanner, vein finder, IV pumps, wound vacs
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC
Job Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation)
- Coordinate patient care with ancillary departments
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality
- Adhere to professional accountability and facility standards
- Care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities
Physical & Working Conditions
- Stand and walk most of the shift
- Frequent bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance
- May work varying schedules and shifts based on patient care needs
- Exposure to blood and body fluids (high risk)
- Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs, pinching up to 15 lbs, minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Dress Code
- Scrubs color: Black only
- No other attire permitted
