Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist - 36hrs. Nights and Every Other Weekend

Location: Salem, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist
• Shift: 36 hours per week, primarily nights and every other weekend
• Unit: Respiratory
• Rotation: Day shift may rotate to 11a-11p when needed; night shift is straight nights
• Patient Care Setting: Acute care with ventilator experience required
• Clinician to Patient Ratio:

  • Day shift: 5 Respiratory Therapists (1 Charge, 2 ICU, 2 Med/Surg)
  • Evening shift: 5 Respiratory Therapists
  • Night shift: 4 Respiratory Therapists
• Equipment Used: PB980 Ventilator, Hamilton T1 Transport Ventilator
• EMR System: EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Massachusetts
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• CRT or RRT certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Experience in an acute care setting

Health and Compliance Requirements

• N95 Fit Test within 365 days of start date, updated annually (no onsite testing; must use specific fit test form)
• Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (part of fit test process)
• Documentation of immunizations or immunity for:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity (strongly preferred)
  • Tdap vaccination within 10 years (preferred)
• Physician Health Statement within 365 days of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background checks including:

  • National and Massachusetts CORI background checks within required timeframes
  • Social Security Number trace and exclusion checks
• Submission of professional references (2 references within 4 years, including at least 1 supervisor)
• Completion of skills checklist within 1 year of submission
• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Rotation between day and night shifts may occur as needed
• This role requires working in an acute care hospital environment with ventilator management responsibilities
