Job Opportunity: Certified Respiratory Therapist
Location: Newton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Rotating day and night shifts
Patient Population
- Adult and Neonatal Level 2B experience required
Experience Requirements
- Specialty: Certified Respiratory Therapist

Required Certifications and Licenses
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA, Red Cross, CHSF, or Military accepted; AHA preferred)

- Fit Test for N95 respirator within 365 days of start date, updated annually
- Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Sept 15 - April 30), no exemptions allowed
- TB test documentation within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if >6 month break
- MMR vaccination or proof of immunity
- Health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date, updated if >6 month break
- Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI, SSN trace, National Sex Offender Check, and Exclusion Checks (OIG, GSA, MassHealth, NH Medicaid) within required timeframes
- Respirator Medical Clearance Attestation (part of Fit Test)
- Other vaccines preferred but optional: Hepatitis B, Tdap

- Completion of MGB NWH Self-Study Orientation & Attestation
- Submission of MGB Skills Checklist
- Submission of MGB Resume (past 7 years of work experience with city & state)
- Submission of 2 recent references (minimum 1 supervisor or above in skillset)
- Submission of MGB Candidate Submission Coversheet
- Confirmation of Assignment/POI Form upon acceptance and for extensions
Additional Notes
- No religious exemptions for fit testing or influenza vaccine
- Fit testing cannot be done onsite; must be completed prior to start
- Background checks and credential verifications must be current and updated if breaks exceed specified durations
- Positive TB test requires negative chest x-ray documentation
This position is suitable for Certified Respiratory Therapists with experience in adult and neonatal care, comfortable with rotating shifts, and able to meet comprehensive credentialing and health requirements.
