Job Opportunity: RN Endovascular Neurosurgery

Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Maintain a professional image and provide excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Assess patient needs based on history, observation, physical examination, and diagnostic data.
  • Plan individualized nursing care tailored to the holistic and age-specific needs of patients.
  • Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care and standards of practice, incorporating physician-prescribed medical plans.
  • Demonstrate competency in nursing skills relevant to endovascular neurosurgery procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect patients and staff.
  • Perform patient safety initiatives including patient identification, effective communication, specimen labeling, clinical alarms, infection control, and universal protocols.
  • Carry out physician’s orders, including telephone/verbal orders and medication scanning.
  • Conduct nursing handoffs and bedside reports, ensuring thorough documentation and patient consent processes.
  • Complete procedural paperwork such as consent forms, pre- and post-procedure checklists, and time-outs.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and security standards.
  • Reconcile and administer patient medications and blood products following policies and procedures.
  • Participate in code management including crash cart, rapid response, and end-of-life care.
  • Care for patients with unit-specific needs such as moderate sedation, point of care testing, contrast injector use, sheath removal, and operation of physiological monitoring systems.
  • Apply procedural aseptic scrubbing and technique in the procedure suite.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in Neuro Interventions
  • Experience in Cath Lab nursing
  • Experience as a Cardiovascular Operating Room circulator
  • Moderate sedation training
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
