Physical Therapist - Home Health

Location: Manning, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide physical therapy services according to physician’s written orders.
• Interact daily with patients, family members, agency personnel, and regularly with physicians.
• Manage time productively and independently; comply with attendance and reporting requirements.
• Maintain professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
• Knowledgeable of state therapy laws, federal health insurance program regulations, home health agency conditions of participation, and other regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, writing, organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Perform physical activities including walking, standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), sitting, and driving.
• Work in office and home settings, including rural and isolated areas; must handle safety concerns for staff and patients.
• Use office equipment and computers effectively.
• Assess patient status and needs across the lifespan, applying principles of growth and development.
• Exhibit maturity, self-motivation, creativity, initiative, independent judgment, ethical and professional behavior.
• Collaborate closely with staff, students, and external agencies.
• Adhere to department dress code and maintain a neat, clean, well-groomed appearance.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in South Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist, including experience within the last year.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
• Knowledge of the Conditions of Participation of the Federal Health Insurance Program for the Aged and Disabled (Title XVIII, Social Security Act, Section 1861).
• Knowledge of the regulations relating to Conditions of Participation for Home Health Agencies (Part 405, Section 1201-1243).
• Knowledge of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) regulations.

Physical & Work Environment

• Moderate physical activity with frequent walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying, sitting, and driving.
• Work performed in well-ventilated, lighted, temperature-regulated office and patient homes.
• Patient homes may present challenging conditions (inclimate weather, cramped spaces).
• Must use own vehicle for travel to remote sites when company transportation is unavailable.
• Must be able to handle safety issues related to travel and patient care environments.

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• High degree of adaptability and ability to exercise initiative and judgment is essential.
• Effective communication with diverse populations is critical.
