• Job Description:
  Perform setup and execution of outpatient and inpatient EEGs as ordered and scheduled. Must be available for 24-hour on-call and weekend coverage.

Required Qualifications

• License:
  Active professional license/certification for EEG Technician in the state of Louisiana. Primary source verification required within 30 days of start and must be kept current.
• Certifications:

  • Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) certification from ASET required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) required.
• Experience:

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Skills & Competency Checklists:

  • Unit-specific skills checklist within one year prior to start, updated annually.
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Safety, Infection Control, and others with a passing score of 80% or higher, updated annually.
  • Competency exam with passing score of 80% or higher within one year prior to start.
• Health & Immunizations:

  • COVID-19 vaccine or exemption (optional).
  • MMR: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement.
  • Hepatitis B: Proof of 3 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with required approvals.
  • Influenza vaccine (optional; medical/religious exemptions accepted with documentation).
  • TB Test: Negative QuantiFERON blood test within one year or 2-step skin test; if positive, must provide clearance or treatment proof.
  • Varicella: Proof of 2 immunizations, positive titer, or declination with signed statement.

  • Annual TB Questionnaire within 6 months of start; if positive, evaluation and treatment proof required.
  • Fit Test: N95 mask fit test (3M 1860, 1860s, or 1870+) within one year prior to start, updated annually.
  • Eye Exam & Color Vision: Ishihara Color Test and Snellen Vision test within one year prior to start.
• Background & Screening:

  • Criminal background check within 30 days prior to start including SSN trace, 7-year county criminal searches, national checks, and education/employment verification for last 5 years.
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start.
• Documentation:

  • Resume/profile required for submission.
  • HRIS form required for submission.
  • Badge photo (forward-facing, well-lit, neutral background, JPEG format).
  • Signed health statement within one year confirming ability to work without restrictions.
  • Contract annual education packet to be completed as required.

This position requires a highly compliant and credentialed EEG Technician prepared for inpatient and outpatient EEG procedures with on-call and weekend responsibilities.
