Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN Step Down)
Location: Elmira, New York
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a Step Down unit with patient ratios:
- Step Down: 3:1
- Day Shift: 5:1
- Night Shift: 7:1
- Responsibilities include:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- Pushing, Pulling, Lifting
- Medication Administration
- Patient Assessments
- Care Plans
- Effective Communication and Teamwork
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Valid New York State RN license (State License Verification required)
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- 8 Hours of Stroke Training (including NIHSS)
- Arnot Skills Checklist (unit-specific, updated annually)
- Arnot Core Competency Exam (must score 80% or higher)
Health & Immunizations
- COVID-19 Vaccine (proof or agency declination)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
- Hepatitis B - positive antibody titer, 3 vaccine series, or Arnot-specific declination form
- Influenza Vaccine or Arnot-specific declination (mask required if declined)
- Varicella - positive IgG titer or 2 vaccine series required
- Tdap (preferred, not required; declination form if no record)
- TB Test (annual requirement) - skin PPD or Quantiferon test with follow-up as needed
- Physical/Health Statement (within last 12 months) including vitals and vision screening
- Fit Test (annual requirement) for approved respirator models

- Valid US Driver’s License or State ID (non-expired)
- Agency Background Check (within 30 days) including criminal and county checks for all counties lived/worked in last 7 years
- Agency Drug Screen (9+ panel, within 30 days)

- Employment Verification (most recent employer, agency verifications count as one employer)
