MRI Technician - Kyle, Texas (Long-Term Assignment)

Job Summary

Operate MRI scanner to obtain diagnostic images.
Prepare and position patients accurately for cross-sectional imaging.
Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to MRI exams.
Enter and monitor patient data; manage image transfer and film development.
Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
Ensure high-quality images and correct documentation are submitted to PACS.
Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions.
Maintain cleanliness and order in the department including procedure rooms and storage areas.
Work requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment.
Use personal protective equipment following standard precautions.

Criminal Background Check (including SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually)
EPLS Check (updated within 90 days of start)

Personal Health History Requirements

MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
Fit Test: Required for all travelers, preferred before start (annual update)
Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire (optional but recommended)
Health Statement: Statement of good health or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required within specified timeframes, with annual TB questionnaire updates
Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history; no declinations accepted
Tdap: Valid within 10 years, no declinations accepted
12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter; includes testing for 12 specified substances
