Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM (Night Shift)
Specialty: ICU (Cardiovascular ICU experience preferred)
Schedule Requirements:
- Every other weekend required
- Easter holiday required
- 36 or 48-hour contract options acceptable
Required Qualifications
- License: Current RN license verified through Nursys within 30 days prior to start
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Experience: Minimum years of ICU nursing experience (implied by specialty; CVICU experience preferred)
- Professional Credentials:
- Resume/Profile required for submission
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Driver’s license or state ID (valid, unexpired, matching address requirements)
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 90 days of assignment start
- EPLS check within 90 days of start
- Health and Immunizations:
- Completed health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years
- MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
- Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- TB screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes; positive results require chest X-ray and annual questionnaire
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferred prior to start (annual update required)
- Drug Screening:
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Competency and Training:
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics with minimum 80% passing score
- Ascension EKG exam with minimum 80% passing score, updated every 3 years
- Ascension Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Ascension Skills Checklist for clinical specialty, completed within one year and updated annually
- Completion of onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding modules
- Pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip
Additional Information
- Signed assignment agreement required prior to onboarding
- Various verifications and documentation must be uploaded and maintained according to policy timelines
- Badge photo required (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
- Employment verification for the past seven years required, updated annually or after breaks in service longer than 90 days
- Confirmation of assignment documentation required upon initial assignment and each extension
This position is suitable for experienced ICU RNs who meet the above licensure, certification, and health requirements and are available for night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage. Cardiovascular ICU experience is preferred but not mandatory.
