Job Opportunity: RN Telemetry
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM
Job Details
- Telemetry nursing position requiring care for patients on cardiac monitoring.
- 36 to 48-hour shifts acceptable.
- Every other weekend required.
- Chemo certification preferred.
- At least 1 year of prior travel nursing experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Telemetry experience of at least 2 years, including experience within the last year
- Minimum of 1 year total travel nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Health & Immunizations
- Ascension Color Vision test completed prior to start and updated every 3 years.
- Documentation of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
- Documentation of two Varicella vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
- Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing is required.
- 2-step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire; if positive TB test, chest X-ray within 1 year required.
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start.
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
- 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
Professional & Background Checks
- Resume/profile submission required.
- Two professional references required prior to first assignment.
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 90 days of start.
- Employment verification for the past 7 years.
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start.
- Signed assignment agreement and confirmation of assignment documentation required.
Training & Competency
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, NPSG, OSHA topics with minimum 80% passing score.
- Ascension onboarding requirements including education attestation and nursing contract worker onboarding.
- Completion of Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation.
- Ascension skills checklist for specialty, updated annually.
- Pre-hire modules including Nova StatStrip.
Identification & Photo
- Valid driver’s license or state ID (must not be expired and address must match records).
- Forward-facing badge photo with white or blue background, no alterations.
Additional Notes
- Optional unit-specific checklist may be required by unit leader within one week of start.
- Hiring manager evaluation and name change documentation are optional.
- Extensions require updated confirmation of assignment documentation.
