Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry

Location: Panama City, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Description

• Work schedule includes every other weekend and any holiday that falls on a regularly scheduled shift
• Utilize Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Specialty: Medical/Surgical with Telemetry focus

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid Driver’s License

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Signed assignment agreement and offer letter prior to onboarding
• Completion of Ascension-specific onboarding modules including:

  • Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.) with minimum 80% passing score
  • EKG Exam with minimum 80% passing score (updated every 3 years)
  • Cerner Test-Out and Training Checklist with signed attestation
  • Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding (completed onsite)
  • Nova StatStrip pre-hire modules
• Health and immunization documentation:

  • Ascension Color Vision test (updated every 3 years)
  • MMR: documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B: vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Influenza vaccine is optional; if declined during flu season, mask wearing required
  • Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes, with chest X-ray if positive
  • Fit Test for respiratory protection (preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite)
  • Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Ascension Skills Checklist for specialty, completed within one year and updated annually
• Badge photo: forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations

Additional Information

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• Shift hours: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM (overnight shift)

This position is ideal for an experienced RN with medical/surgical and telemetry skills, comfortable working nights and holidays, and able to meet comprehensive onboarding and compliance requirements.
