Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician CVOR
Location
- Indianapolis, Indiana
Employment Type
- Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)
Work Schedule
- Four 10-hour shifts per week (either 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM, depending on case schedule)
- One night call per week
- One weekend call per month (from Friday evening through 6:00 AM Monday)
Required Qualifications
- Current Certified Surgical Technician (CST) license or certification relevant to Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Completion of specialty competency exams and core competencies with a minimum passing score of 80%
- Valid, unexpired Driver’s License or State ID matching address requirements
- Documentation of required immunizations and health screenings:
- Two MMR vaccines or positive immunity titer (no declinations accepted)
- Two Varicella vaccines or proof of immunity (no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Tdap vaccine valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (declinations accepted with mask requirement)
- Tuberculosis screening: 2-step PPD or IGRA test, with follow-up chest X-ray and annual questionnaire if positive
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start
- Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to assignment, updated annually
- Successful completion of a 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Verification of education relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start
- Employment verification for the past seven years
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and other required screenings within 90 days prior to start
- Completion of onboarding education attestation modules specific to surgical technologists
- Recent professional references (at least two) prior to assignment
Additional Requirements
- Specialty competency exams and core competencies must be updated every 3 years
- Skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually
- Confirmation of assignment documentation required at start and upon extension
- Compliance with all required documentation and credential verifications prior to assignment start
