Job Opportunity: RN Medical/Surgical (Travel)

Location: Manhattan, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Work in a 28-bed Medical unit caring for General Medical patients including Cardiology, Pulmonary, Neurology, and Nephrology cases.
• Surgical unit with 22 beds covering General Surgery, Orthopedics, Urology, and ENT.
• 24-hour Hospitalist coverage.
• Staffing ratio goal: 1:5 on day shifts and 1:6 on night shifts.

Required Qualifications

Licensure

• Current RN license valid in Kansas with primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start.

Certifications

• BLS (American Heart Association) certification required.
• MOAB Moderate Risk De-Escalation Training required.
• Ascension-specific certifications and competencies including:

  • Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.)
  • Ascension EKG Exam (passing score required)
  • Ascension Color Vision test
• Fit Test for respiratory protection (annual update required).

Health and Immunizations

• Proof of two MMR vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted).
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination.
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement).
• TB screening: Positive IGRA or PPD results, negative chest X-ray within one year, and annual TB questionnaire.
• Varicella immunity proof or vaccination (no declinations accepted).
• Tdap vaccination valid within 10 years.
• 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Background and Verification

• Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start.
• Employment verification for the past seven years.
• Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start.
• Professional references: at least two qualifying references prior to first assignment.

Other Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must match address requirements).
• Health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• Completion of Ascension onboarding requirements and skills checklist.
• Ascension-specific onboarding modules and attestations.
• Ascension Badge Photo (headshot with white or blue background, no alterations).
