Respiratory Therapist

Job Overview

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Connecticut
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience working with Adult patients

Preferred Qualifications

• NRP
• PAL
• Previous charge experience
• Teaching hospital experience
• Trauma Level 1 experience
• NICU experience
• Pediatric critical care experience

Work Expectations

• Must be available and able to commit to 4 shifts per month
• Must not be actively pursuing other per diem or travel jobs that would prevent meeting the 4-shift monthly commitment
• Must prioritize compliance deadlines to be cleared by the start date
• Floating between campuses may be required

Schedule and Orientation

• Orientation includes a virtual day, an in-person RRT-specific training day, a unit orientation shift, and 3 unit shadow shifts
• Candidates should provide 3–4 dates of availability after the Wednesday of orientation week and within 2 weeks of general orientation start

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are accepted
• Previous permanent employees must have a 1-year separation period
• COVID vaccination is preferred but not required
• Scrubs are not provided; navy blue top and bottom are required
• A navy blue lab coat is required
• Undershirts must be solid black, white, or grey
• Jackets must be solid black fleece or match scrub color
• Shoes must be neutral colors: white, black, or grey
