Pediatric PACU RN

Overview

Travel/contract role in Orange, California
Day shift, 4x10 hours
Start time varies between 5:30 AM and 7:30 AM
Contract length: 13 weeks
First-time travelers accepted
Must work both Pre-Op and PACU
Floating required to Pre-Op
Call required: 3–4 call shifts per 6-week schedule
Weekend work not required

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (2 years of experience)
PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Experience in a(n) Inpatient setting
Experience in a(n) Outpatient setting
Pediatrics PACU - Post Anesthetic Care experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with trachs
Experience with phlebotomy

Patient Population / Case Mix

Pediatric patients ages 0–25
High-volume autistic and special-needs population
Trachs, vents, G-tubes, and home-vented children
Does not routinely take intubated patients
Surgeries include ENT, urology, neuro, cath lab, general surgery, plastics, GI, LPs, ABRs, and MRIs
Does not include open hearts, NICU, or transplants

Scheduling / Assignment Notes

Start dates accepted: 8/31, 9/14, 9/28, 10/12
Pre-approved time off is at manager discretion

Documentation / Onboarding

Cerner is used for documentation
Photo ID is required on arrival
Background check, education verification, references, work history verification, skills checklist, and employment application are required
Fit testing, Tdap, TB screening, drug screening, flu documentation, eye exam, color blind exam, and vaccine documentation are required as part of onboarding/health clearance
Orientation and pre-start modules must be completed before starting
