Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Location: Hurricane, West Virginia
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day, 5x8 hours, 6:50 AM–3:20 PM
• Weekly schedule: Monday–Friday
• Call: 1–2 call shifts per week, plus 1 weekend of call per month
• Guaranteed hours: 32–40 hours per week
• First-time travelers: Not accepted
• Local candidates: Accepted within a 100-mile radius
• Floating: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• 2 years of Operating Room experience
• Operating Room experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Driver's License
• Ortho Trauma experience

Schedule and Work Expectations

• Orientation is held every other Friday
• Weekend work is on-call only
• One RN is assigned to 1 or 2 surgical techs

• 2 manager/charge references from the past 2 years
• Background check

• Tdap vaccination
• Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella immunity or vaccination documentation

• Annual nursing competency testing
• Annual medication/pharmacology competency exam
• Annual color blindness testing
• Annual in-service training completion
• State license verification
• NURSYS verification
• Pass/fail testing for nursing
• Blood administration policy review
• RN/LPN math calculation packet review
• EKG review
• Dress code, time and attendance, medical release, liability, and time gap forms
