Overview

• Shift: Day, 3x12 hours, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Unit/department: Respiratory Care Services; Department of Respiratory Care is a 24/7 department with responsibility throughout the hospital, primarily focused on adult care areas
• Attire: Hunter Green scrubs

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (2 years of experience)
• Registered Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate degree in respiratory care or equivalent
• Experience with Epic

Responsibilities

• Analyze, prioritize, and evaluate patient needs
• Assess, recommend, implement, and modify respiratory care procedures by protocol or physician order
• Initiate, maintain, troubleshoot, and wean patients from respiratory equipment, including mechanical ventilation, BiPAP, and medical gas therapy
• Complete all clinical and didactic yearly competencies for assigned clinical areas
• Educate staff, physicians, and patients related to disease process, treatment, and medications
