Labor and Delivery RN

Overview

  • Travel/Contract role in Phoenix, Arizona
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
  • 36 hours per week
  • Ratios: 1–2 couplets
  • Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Arizona
  • Labor and Delivery (3 years of experience)
  • Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
  • EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Ability to assist with sterile speculum exam (effacement, dilation, station, presentation)
  • Ability to perform NST (Non Stress Tests)
  • Ability to perform sterile vaginal exam
  • Experience with EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • Experience with External & Internal Fetal Monitoring
  • Experience with IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration
  • Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Experience administering blood & blood products
  • Experience with amnioinfusion
  • Experience assisting with high risk delivery

  • C-EFM
  • RNC-OB

Clinical Experience / Skills

  • Assist with sterile speculum exam
  • NST (Non Stress Tests)
  • Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus
  • Sterile vaginal exam
  • Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • Use of External & Internal Fetal Monitoring
  • Use of IUPC (Intrauterine pressure catheter) placement and calibration
  • Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Administration of blood & blood products
  • Drawing venous blood
  • Start and maintain peripheral IV
  • Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring
  • Medication administration
  • Postpartum care and procedures
  • Amnioinfusion
  • Assist with high risk delivery
  • Assist with vaginal delivery
  • Circulate for C-section
  • Forceps/vacuum extraction
  • Hemorrhage/shock
  • Recover C-Section
  • Neonatal care in delivery room
  • Cord care
  • Discharge teaching to parents
  • Infant identification
  • Newborn assessment
  • Newborn hypoglycemia
  • Epidural anesthesia / general anesthesia / pain assessment & management
  • Postpartum care for vaginal delivery, cesarean section, couplet care, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy induced hypertension

  • Minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month
