Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Omaha, Nebraska
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- Contract options: 13 or 26 weeks
- Hours per week: 48
Unit
- Innovation Design Unit (IDU), an inpatient care unit with 17 patient rooms divided into zones
- Primary patient population: adult medical-surgical patients
- The unit does not care for labor and delivery or pediatrics
- Primary nursing care model with 1 RN assigned to a group of patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:4–5 on days, 1:5–6 on nights
Required Qualifications
- BLS required
- 2 years of prior Telemetry experience required
- Must have 2 years of experience in a large, urban hospital
- EPIC charting experience required
- First timers not accepted
- Must be more than 100 miles from the facility
- Pending license accepted; if the license is not in hand at submission, the traveler will be booked six weeks out
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS preferred
Float Scope
- Travelers are first to float
- Must be prepared to float frequently to meet staffing needs
- May float within scope to meet facility needs, including potentially to Bellevue campus
- Possible units include 4CS, 5 West, 6 Neuro, 4/5 Lied, 6/7 Lied, 7 HVU, 8 Werner, 9 Trauma, Bellevue MS, Observation, and SOTU
Scheduling and Assignment Details
- 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period
- Weekend definition: days are Saturday and Sunday; nights are Friday night and Saturday night
- Up to 2 weeks of RTO permitted
- RTO must be submitted with the application
- Additional RTO requests after confirmation are at manager discretion
- Travelers must work 2 of 3 major holidays
Additional Notes
- Drips are required on all floors
- CNAs, care techs, transport team, and swoop/paramedics are part of care teams
- LPNs are assigned on some, but not all, floors
- 100% nicotine free facility
- Scrubs are mandatory: Steele gray scrubs with the Nebraska Medicine logo on the back
- Parking is available for a fee
- Government-issued photo ID is required
