Registered Nurse – MS/Tele (Nebraska, Omaha) – Travel/Contract

• Location: Omaha, Nebraska
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Unit: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry (MS/Tele)
• Floating: Frequent floating required to various units including sister campus 16 minutes away; units may include Observation, Stepdown Critical Care, Heart and Vascular, Cardiac Care, Solid Organ Transplant, Neuroscience, Trauma, Oncology, and others.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• Completion of at least one travel nursing assignment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Valid Driver's License
• Experience with Epic electronic charting system

Work Requirements

• Weekend Shifts: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period
• Holiday Coverage: Must work 2 out of 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s)
• Locals: Candidates must live more than 100 miles from the facility (locals not accepted)
• Scrubs: Mandatory Steele gray scrubs with facility logo (provided after confirmation)
• Parking: Parking permits available (~$55/month) or daily parking rates

• Large, 718-bed acute care hospital with a wide range of specialty units
• Teaching hospital with access to cutting-edge research and education
• Care teams include CNAs, care techs, transport team, paramedics, and LPNs on some floors

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 30 days of start, including multi-county and federal checks
• State-specific registry checks required
• Primary source license verification and NURSYS verification required
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment required
• Annual physical exam and fit mask test (3M 1860 Small/Regular or 3M 1870+) required
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap within last 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray with TB questionnaire if positive history
  • 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (measles, mumps, rubella)
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • 2 Varicella vaccines or positive titer
  • Drug screen within 60 days of start and annually
• Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
• COVID vaccine preferred; exemptions accepted
• Annual skills checklist required
• Two professional references from the last 2 years required

• Travelers are prioritized first to float to meet staffing needs
• Facility is 100% nicotine-free
• Pending license candidates will be booked six weeks out if license is not in hand at submission
• Eye exam required only for OR staff (not applicable here)
• Facility provides a welcome packet with maps and parking information

This position is ideal for experienced RNs comfortable with floating across multiple specialty units in a large academic medical center setting, with strong EPIC charting skills and critical care competencies.
