Job Opportunity: PACU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Hays, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (5 days x 8 hours, 40 hours/week)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)/Recovery Room.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in PACU/Recovery Room.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas.
• Minimum of 2 years of Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience, with PACU experience within the last year.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Orientation and Facility Requirements

• Orientation starts at 8:20 AM; business casual attire recommended (scrubs allowed if required for position).
• Photo ID badge photo taken on first day.
• Lactation resources available upon request.
• Facility requires acknowledgment of HIPAA and safety manuals.

Additional Notes

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) training may be required depending on unit; check unit description.
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required as applicable.
• NIH Stroke Certification not required for PACU but required for other units (ICU, PCU, Med Surg, etc.).
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
