MRI Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Shift: Night, Monday – Thursday, 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM (4x10 hour shifts)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work primarily involves Radiology/Cardiology specialty.
• Must be able to start IVs.
• Siemens equipment experience preferred.
• Scrubs color: Hunter Green.
• Rotating call required on nights and weekends.
• Weekend and holiday work required.

Required Qualifications

• MRI Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Certifications:

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • LSRT (Louisiana State Radiologic Technologist license)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation.
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including Social Security trace, nationwide and county checks, sex offender, federal databases, FACIS Level 3. Must be updated annually.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.).
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days.
• Competency exams (Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG) required within 12 months of start and updated annually, with minimum 80% score.
• Core competencies (Parts I, II, III) must be updated annually.
• State license and certification verifications required within 30 days of start.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start (not required by employer but required by placement agency).
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper forms).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (two-step skin test or equivalent). Annual TB questionnaire required.
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer required; if low titer, two boosters required (second booster may be pending at start but must be completed within 60 days).
• Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer required; same booster policy as MMR.
• Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination signed within 12 months of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccination required annually (Oct 1 – Mar 31), with exemptions and declinations accepted via proper forms. Mask required if unvaccinated.

Additional Information

• Must comply with employee appearance policy.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification may be required depending on unit (not specified for this role).
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

This position is ideal for experienced MRI Technologists with required certifications and the ability to work night shifts with rotating call responsibilities.
