Electrophysiology Tech - Travel/Contract

Location: Cookeville, Tennessee
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hours/week)

Job Description

• Perform recording and scrubbing of electrophysiology (EP) studies and ablations
• Must have strong experience with AFIB recording and scrubbing
• No weekend shifts required
• No on-call duties
• No floating outside scope of practice
• Block scheduling accommodated (Mon-Fri, 7a-3:30p)
• Local candidates not accepted
• Pending licenses not accepted
• First-time travelers accepted only if they have prior experience in the field

Required Qualifications

• Electrophysiology Technician with at least 1 year of experience
• Electrophysiology Technician experience within the last year

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support) – ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense approved
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – ARC, AHA, or US Department of Defense approved
• Other certifications as required by the unit/job description

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours
• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript acceptable as placeholder)
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application and skills checklist
• State-specific abuse registry check (Tennessee)

Health and Safety Requirements

• Initial physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest X-ray if previously positive, within 1 year
• Required immunizations or titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31) or facility-specific declination form with mask requirement
• COVID vaccine or facility-specific declination form required
• 9-panel drug screen within last 12 months (instant acceptable)

Orientation and Competency Testing

• Must review facility-specific orientation materials and safety manuals
• Pass/fail arrhythmia and medication competency tests may be required depending on unit
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
