Job Opportunity: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)

Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day (4x10 hours), 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Hours per Week: 40


Job Description

  • Work in a specialty hospital focused on care coordination for neurological and cardiac patients.
  • The hospital is a comprehensive stroke center.
  • Role involves inpatient/acute care and case management.
  • Must have prior hospital experience.
  • Travelers may be floated to other nearby campuses if census is low.
  • Weekend coverage required: minimum 2 weekend days per month (typically 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday, not the same weekend).

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker license in Washington.
  • Minimum 1 year of Licensed Clinical Social Worker experience within the last year.
  • Experience in inpatient and acute care settings.
  • Case management experience.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.
  • Certifications required:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Licensed Social Worker Advanced Intensive Care (LSWAIC)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID and Social Security Card required.
  • Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually.
  • Additional background screenings including EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG within 30 days of start, updated monthly.
  • Education verification required.
  • Washington State Patrol Search required within 90 days of start for Washington placements.
  • References: Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting.
  • Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment required.
  • Skills checklist required and must be updated annually.

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
  • Fit mask test required for travel candidates, updated annually.
  • Immunizations and screenings required:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years; declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer; declination accepted
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season (declination accepted)
    • COVID vaccination record preferred; declinations not required but unvaccinated must follow infection prevention protocols
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start.

Training and Competency

  • Must complete annual regulatory and specialty-specific training modules via LMS.
  • Epic training modules required and must be completed within a week of orientation.
  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable.
  • Competency exams and other certifications as applicable to specialty.

Additional Information

  • Floating policy acknowledgment required; may be floated to other nearby facilities.
  • Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates.
  • WA multi-state licensed nurses must complete demographic attestation prior to start (applicable to RN/LPN but noted for awareness).

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized stroke center environment with a focus on neuro and cardiac patient care coordination, requiring strong inpatient social work experience and flexibility for floating and weekend coverage.
