Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Telemetry

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Work Schedule Details

• Unit: General Medical-Surgical with Telemetry focus, including Diabetes, Renal Insufficiency, some Overnight Orthopedics, Vascular Insufficiency, Wound Care, and Stroke Unit backup.
• Shift: Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM).
• Scheduling Options: Alternating 3x12 and 4x12 shifts every other week, or straight 4x12 shifts.
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (1:4 if cardiac drip).
• Weekend Requirement: Yes.
• Call Requirement: No.
• Float: Yes.
• Holiday Requirement: Work at least 2 of 3 major holidays.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Minimum 2 years of Telemetry nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel or expanded panel depending on hire date).
• Immunizations and testing:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (declinations accepted with proper documentation).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol.
  • Annual TB questionnaire.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) – 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low.
  • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required if titer low.
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) with exemptions and declinations accepted.
• Physical exam not required by employer but may be required by placement agency.

Appearance & Dress Code

• Scrubs: Navy blue or combination with white.

Additional Notes

• Return to Office (RTO) policy: Less than 5 days or add time to end of contract.
• Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.

This role is ideal for experienced MS/Telemetry RNs comfortable with night shifts and telemetry patient care, who have strong clinical skills in dysrhythmia management and telemetry monitoring, and who meet the outlined certification and compliance requirements.
