  • Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)

Job Description

  • Outpatient Mammography Technician
  • Staff are cross-utilized; mammographers provide X-ray coverage during X-ray technologist lunch breaks

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in California
  • Minimum 1 year of Mammography Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ARRT Mammography (ARRT M) certification
  • ARRT Radiography (ARRT R) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC only)

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually
  • Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per California law)
  • Employment application must include full 7 years of work history with no gaps; employment verification required for up to 7 years
  • References: 2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical/allied positions
  • Various facility-specific documents must be reviewed and signed prior to start, including job description, standards of business conduct, code of conduct, vendor training, and regulatory orientation

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
  • TB screening questionnaire within 90 days of start, renewed annually; negative TB test or chest x-ray required
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (series or declination)
    • Varicella
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30) or signed declination
  • Color blindness exam (in-person) if applicable
  • Respiratory safety clearance required and renewed annually

Certifications (as applicable)

  • Additional certifications may be required depending on position specifics; verify with employer if ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, IV certification, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, or other specialty certifications are needed

Competency Exams

  • Medication test/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam may be required for some telemetry units
