Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Weekly hours: 36 or 48 hours available
Must be available for the first two weeks of orientation
Will float to other Medical Surgical units approximately once per week
Work every other weekend
Holiday coverage required; flexibility needed for holiday time off requests
No guaranteed block scheduling at this time
Staffing ratio: 1:5-6 on nights; may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
Unit: 37-bed Medical Surgical, Oncology unit caring for general medical patients and surgical specialties including gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological surgeries, ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, mastectomies, hysterectomies
Must be willing to work with a variety of staff (RNs, LPNs, Techs, etc.)

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
